Cirque du Soleil Angels in NYC today?

Hey you guys!
I just got to work and passed a huge group? Lot? flock? of Cirque du Soleil angels! Their wings must be like 4 feet tall.
I love Cirque! So dramatic!

Did anyone else see them?
I know Cirque is bring Corteo to NY, but does anyone know why the angel wings?

The story:

Centers on Frank Keane (Robert Caryle) a widowed man consumed by his wife's death. On a delivery run one day, Frank witnesses a car wreck and talks to the man inside, Steve Mills (John Goodman), who is on the verge of dying. In the last moments of his life, Steve explains the urgency that led to his situation; he tells the story of his childhood love that he swore 40 years ago he would meet at Marilyn Hotchkiss Ballroom & Charm School where they first met as kids.
When Frank attemps to deliver Steve's regrets for not showing up, Frank meets both Meredeth (Marisa Tomei) and the infectious world of dance, which allows his heart to open and find love again.

Has anyone been there on amsterdam and 111? It is the best of the best for fine pastry and cafe....columbia intelligentsia.

If anyone goes there i will be willing to send them money to send me a box load of their pastries.

tell me all you can about louis brandeis high and any of the other schools on the upper west side who've achieved some sort of dubious distinction for violence or anything personal you might be able to attach.

old but new

Im new to tribe net and am glued to the net. I lived on the upper west side for 15 years. Can I still join? Id love to live thru your haunts vicariously. Im sure there are many new places re gentrification I havnt heard of but still... and there must be new homeless people I dont know esp the one who lived in the halls of my building on RVSD. I lived near Columbia U.
I remember the papaya juice stand at 72nd st. The bagle shop, the many hunan restaurants. The round Jewish synagogue near lincoln center, st. john the divine's, the boat arena and the gardens in riverside park. and all the many dog walkers.
what a small world this is at times. Thanks you all for being there.

I use a few of these networking type sites so I thought, why not cross polinate a bit. Ryze.com has a more business networking spin.
